How do you get internet set up on a linux?

I am trying to run a duel os of windows and linux, but I can't figure out how to get the internet set up on the linux half. It works fine on the windows though so I know my connection is fine.

I have cable internet going through a wireless router to get to the computer.

The specific version of linux is Kubuntu.

When I open the browser, it cannot find any sites. How do I get it configured to work?

U need to make sure the Linux is set for DHCP. I have seen it wanting an actual IP address for the DNS - so try that. If it still is not working, give it the gateway address and a static IP that works with your router.
Reply:you seem to have a very limited knowledge of computers to install something like linux. Why did you put linux on the system?

There should be a browser installed, like mozilla firebird or firefox. Everything else should be working. If you didnt install linux yourself you might want to ask the guy who set up the computer for you.
Reply:get support from your internet provider
Reply:you have to know your dchp or is it auto config your service provider will have that info
