How to transfer downloaded file to a Linux workstation?

I want to download resource files from the web. These programs run on Linux. But my Linux is not connected to the Internet. How do I transfer the downloaded (in windows) program to Linux and run it?

How to transfer downloaded file to a Linux workstation?
I assume you have downloaded your file to a windows machine.

If the two computers are on the same network:

on the windows machine share the directory or file

on the linux machine mount a smb drive (pointing to the shared item)

use cp to copy from the smb drive to the local file system.

This assumes that you have Samba running on your Linux machine.
Reply:i have one windows machine and two running feisty...

You can do this easily by saving the file to portable media in windows (pendrive, cd, whatever) and then transferring to your linux box.

Or if you can connect all your machines via a router then you can set up a network and transfer from one to the other directly.

IF you have windows and linux running in a dual boot config then install the ntfs read write tool via automatix and then you can read it off your windows partition from your linux boot directly.. alkthough you need to access the internet in the first place to install automatix.. so thats a non starter
Reply:usb jump drive always worked for me
